Producer, director and visual artist Jorge León drew inspiration for this creation from reflections on our finite nature, and our desire to go beyond it, by calling on the figure of Lucy, our distant Australopithecus cousin. In Brûler, words, song, movement, music and space are interwoven, giving this performing art the power to “deconstruct the immortality of objects that have become a museum piece”. The creator sees in Lucy “the kaleidoscopic mirror of our condition as humans today”. He examines this now legendary figure, imagining who she would be if she were 20 years old today and part of what is going on in the world now.
