In her “anti-monument” shows, Eszter Salamon attempts to create a form that links the past, present and future. Since 2014 the choreographer has been questioning monumentality as a place of reinvention that connects our memories, major events in history, personal stories and bodies. With fourteen performers from the Norwegian company Carte Blanche, she is continuing this research with her latest piece in the series: MONUMENT 0.10: The Living Monument. This living monument is deployed in a succession of tableaux: slick sets of red, white, black and golden monochromes. In these strange landscapes, the performers metamorphose into faceless creatures moving in slow motion, providing the outlines of a dance that has something pose-like about it, ensuring these fascinating worlds live long in the memory.
