Established in 1995 in Charleroi, the Yuka Dance Academy is a training centre dedicated to classical and urban dance. Its founder is Yuka Ohara, a star dancer who has enjoyed an international career (e.g. with Tokyo Opera, Alvin Ailey, Ballet du Rhin and Palais des Beaux-Arts). With the expertise of her co-directors Xavier Mwaku and Tomo Dhimoïla, the Yuka Dance Academy conveys to a whole new generation of dancers a form of education influenced by academic techniques and innovative approaches to movement.
The Six – A novel concept in which the boundaries between the world of battle and the universe of creation are blurred.
Three styles, three categories: hip-hop, krump and afro. The dancers confront each other 2vs2, according to the classic rules of battle, from the first round to the semi-finals.
But from the final on, everything changes.
The three winners of each category will leave with prize money, but their adventure won’t stop there.
A last test awaits them to see if they will lift the “special prize” in a final where anything can happen...
