Like a scientist in a laboratory, the dancer – along with his accompanist, props and water-filled sound objects – becomes an explorer. The possibilities of his body, the resistance of materials: the playgrounds of this accompanied solo are peppered with simple objects with which a dialogue is established. For the aim in INCORPORER, is about “making something become one with another thing, letting it become part of a defined, delimited whole”.
Body states (liquid, gas), material qualities (elasticity, rigidity), slow or fast, suspension or precipitation, interior or exterior, the vast and the minuscule, proximity to or distance from the image or sound, the flexibility of the space that is played with like a zoom lens: these are all part of the journey offered by Olga de Soto, “filled with suspense, amusement and poetry”.
