Benjamin Kahn is interested in relations with sound and space, with saturation and silence, with the individual body and its disruption. Dans Cri(s)..., he draws from the multitude of narrations, from their overlaying and their accumulation, in order to grasp their collective power. Faced with collapse and silence, polyphony and cacophony provoke an emotional release, an acoustic jolt faced with the void. The act of crying out clashes with rational discourse and expresses the ultimate urgency in the face of the finite. The work explores the notion of the choir, a collective cry that gives rise to the materialization, meeting and clash of convergences, and of incompatibilities, unisons and frictions.
