In the art of tapestry, threads are interwoven to create patterns and symbols, embody characters and reveal vibrant colours through meticulous arrangements. For their second collaboration following Knight-Night, Bryana Fritz and Thibault Lac take the six tapestries of The Lady and the Unicorn as their backdrop. Commonly interpreted as an allegory of the five senses, the series culminates in an enigmatic sixth tapestry entitled À mon seul désir (To My Sole Desire).
This is precisely where Lick-Horn chooses to begin. Within a decadent millefleurs landscape, the lady, her attendant and a menagerie of companion animals are put to the test. Identities blur, roles shift and relationships are reinvented, while the unicorn—an elusive creature never truly observed in the natural world—trots along the horizon of desire.
