Holding your hand out, raising it, making a gesture : everything felt under our fingers is an essential means of sharing our thoughts, our sensations, our inner impressions. As a primal Interface for our relations with the world, the hand in its multi-functional singularity here interacts with precise writing. Drawing from the vocabulary of urban dance (such as finger-tutting, popping, and flexing), the musical score is constructed from fragmented movements, geometrical lines and polished rhythms. The 3 performers, Simone De Giovanni, Petra Audrey Mangoua Youaleu and Phex, embody a movement that is propagated, responds to itself and is transformed from their own sensibility, thus reshaping the space to the sound of electro music by Alberto Ricca aka Bienoise. By making visible the things that animate us, the work plays with the various meanings of “manifest” and “manifesto”, words that already bring the hand back to its roots.
