Our intimate relationships are political. The fabric of our affections, our friendships and our loves, feelings and their contours can form the material for living and thinking and also be the basis for the choreographer to create their work. The choreographer Alex Baczyński-Jenkins explores the structural and political dimensions of collective desire. In Unending love, the dancers scatter into constellations of shifting relationships. Sharing gestures, touch and sensuality are deployed, duos or trios emerge, evolve and disperse to give birth to other forms of collaboration. Time is transformed, and passes, to create an immersive dance, interspersed with these ephemeral or latent relationships, in which loss, expectation, a quest for utopia and an intensely-lived immediacy are all cohabiting elements bound together in a single spiral.
