L'Brahech is a new creation by We The Lions, a group of six dancers from Casablanca. After careers winning breakdance competitions and exploring contemporary dance, the old friends have come together to share an intimate reflection on the phase of life of being “Berhouch” or “a kid”. L'Brahech tackles the vulnerability and formative richness of this often maligned time of life. The dancers have adopted a collective approach without a leader, offering a piece in which awareness is blended with belonging, inviting the audience to fully embrace this complex reality and its trials and tribulations. Emerging out of this creation is the programme We Teach, which introduces dancers and non-dancers to breakdance culture, its history and its early days in Morocco, encouraging transmission, cultural exchange and the inclusion of woman on the Moroccan scene.
