Between Caracas – where she discovered breakdancing at the age of 15 and began her struggle for students’ rights and freedom of expression –, and France – where she walked off with prizes under the name of Bgirl Campanita – Adriana Martinez has felt the intimate effects of exile on souls and bodies. Taking resilience as applied to humans as well as materials, and hip-hop as a tool and a language of resistance, the dancer has created Anonyme, a solo performance that “invites us into a universe in which strength, poetry, emotions, creativity and music are intimately bound together”.
The performer Brandon Lagaert sharpened his multi-disciplinary skills with Peeping Tom. Active in the world of urban dance, but also a choreographer and director, he has created with his Compagnie Kaiho a dance-theatre duo. Facing Familiar Faces presents a brother and sister who, meeting up after the death of their parents, make their way through nostalgia and happy memories to confront mystery.
