Of the various forms of artistic expression embraced by Europalia, dance and music feature prominently. The 2025 show explores the multiple aspects of Spain, contrasting historical heritage and contemporary creation. Following the success of the first Pick-Up Club organized in 2023, Charleroi danse is repeating the experience, expanding it to four duos who create an interaction of sound and movement, the artists originating in various locations.
On the programme, a five-day residence during which the pairs thus created – Hector Fuertes & Maya Dhondt, Laryssa Kim & Guillem Jiménez, Adelaida & Mercedes Dassy, Caroline Roche & Aire – will work together to develop performances that merge their respective influences, under the experienced supervision of Louise Vanneste, who also coordinates the presentation evenings.
